About

Music is an art. It has its roots in prehistoric times. Music is both a source of individual human expression for the expression of feelings; it is also a source of collective gathering and pleasure through celebration, song and dance, and can also be the symbol of a community or nation through the national anthem. Within the same civilization, there are several forms of music, religious music, learned music, popular music, etc….. Each country has its own musical styles and uses different instruments.

Why do we like different types of music? Lui Collins features all different types of music in the industry.

Music is considered by many to be the food of the soul, because it can stimulate us and transport us to different types of mood states.

For others, it is a complex reflection of the personality of each individual. The musical genre breaks all cultural, economic, social and geographical barriers.

It is more a subjective taste than a taste actually imposed by an industry.

Although many people have a preference for a particular musical genre (e.g. rock, pop, indie, classical, classical, salsa, among others), they do not follow this style of music exclusively.

For example, we can find in a collection of records of a person, the group Kiss with an album of Belanova.

Studies on musical tastes
Many universities and professors have studied in recent years, which determines musical tastes.

For example, it has been observed that among members of the same family (including siblings), these tastes can vary considerably, up to opposite poles such as water and oil (e. g. trance music against vallenato).

Although it has been found that certain personality characteristics are directly related to certain types of music, we should maintain exclusively the same taste for a musical genre throughout our lives, so that these studies are valid theories.

Indeed, experts have associated reggae with people with high self-esteem, creative, not hardworking, docile, outgoing and relaxed; classical music with high self-esteem, creative and introverted; and pop music with high self-esteem, not creative but hard working, docile and extroverted.

Daily experience tells us that these parameters are not respected in all cases.

Music and mood

There is also the variant of the mood state. Indeed, it is typical that depending on the state of our emotional health, we listen to one type of music or another.

How many of you have listened to songs that are depressing, emotionally heartbreaking and about breaking up when a relationship has ended?

And how many of you listen to rhythmic music that invites you to dance and jump everywhere on a very good day?

In addition to being an art, music is a sensation that condenses everything we feel in approximately 4 minutes. But did you know that music can change moods and even improve health?

Thanks to the different types of pulsations it emits and the frequencies of the sounds, music directly affects the circulatory system and the central nervous system, which can quickly lead us from one mood state to another.

For example, on stressful and emotionally charged days, it is recommended to listen to relaxing or instrumental music, because it helps to reduce heart rate, normalizing tension and clearing the mind.

On the contrary, a good dose of rock can provide enough energy when the mood is close to apathy, since it increases heartbeats thanks to percussion and the speed of the rhythms.

Ultimately, music should always be present in the life of every human being, since even nature is full of melodies for our greatest pleasure, to strengthen our mind, body and soul.
